Order 民句 folk ku journal

Thank you for supporting 民句 folk ku journal!

About Issue 2: Once again, thank you to all contributors and supporters from around the world. Issue 2 includes 112 folk ku from 66 poets. The folk ku are written in six languages and hail from 19 different countries and regions – Canada, Croatia, England, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Montenegro, Nigeria, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Spain, The Netherlands, The Philippines, The USA, Turkey and Wales. And last but not least, they sit in the good company of 19 selected haiku by Master Masaoka Shiki of Matsuyama, Japan.

Order Issue 2: Traditional East Asian stitch bound journals with hand-coloured covers will be £8.00 each for contributors (one copy each at this price). Extra copies will be £10.00. Each journal comes with a special keepsake card of your folk ku. Please use the word Order and Your Name as the subject and email us how many copies you would like. We will then provide you with the payment method details. Postage prices are as for Issue 1 (listed below).

Please note: Each hand-bound copy is unique. The text pages are printed on 100% recylced paper and are hand folded. An awl is used to pierce a hole through to join the signatures (folded papers that make up the text block). We use a traditional method that involves poking rolled up washi paper through the 2 middle holes and gluing it down to secure the signatures ready for the covers. The covers are hand-coloured in polychromo and Winsor & NEWTON pencil, a film is used to cover them (it has a scatch-effect matte surface). The covers are then stitched onto the journal with J. Wenzel natural bees-waxed linen thread using the traditional Chinese – East Asian binding method; it is also used in Japan and Korea. Some of our journals also have a reinforced edge that protects the end papers from being damaged.

About Issue 1: We would like to thank all the talented and generous poets from around the world who trusted us with their precious folk memories. Around 60 poets grace the pages of our first 民句 folk ku journal with more than 100 special verses in five languages from 20 different countries and regions – Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Nigeria, Scotland, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The USA, Wales and Yugoslavia. And last but not least, they sit in the good company of selected haiku by Master Masaoka Shiki of Matsuyama, Japan.

Perfect bound Issue 1 journals will be £7.30 each. Each journal comes with a special keepsake card of your folk ku. Please use Order and Your Name as the subject and email us how many copies you would like. We will then provide you with the payment method details.
